The beautiful classic, Spathiphyllum wallisii or Peace Lily was originally found in Colombia and Venezuela and is a member of the Araceae family. The plant was introduced in Europe in 1870.

Spathiphyllum is with its dark shinny leaf and beautiful white flower set, a stylish and trendy plant. Not only beautiful, but tough too!

Did you know that Spathiphyllum has amazing air purifying qualities, making it a health giving plant. Cigarettes, printers, photocopiers, exhaust fumes, ozone. All of these threaten the quality of the air we breather. This means that they threaten our wellbeing.

The space agency NASA has proved that Spathiphyllum removes hazardous substances from the air. Not only that, but it replaces them with pure oxygen.

If you want a pleasant fragrance as well as fresh air, you should bring a trendy Spathiphyllum into your home, your work place, classrooms or other places where it will decorate and "fresh's up the air".

The following tips will help you get the most from your Spathiphyllum:

Keep Spathiphyllum at room temperature (not lower than 15°C, and no higher than 25 °C)

Give the plant a spot with some shade and avoid full sunlight at all costs

Water Spathiphyllum at least twice a week and make sure the root ball does not dry out (Spathiphyllum is a tropical plant from the rainforest of South America and like "wet roots").

Remove all dead flowers.

Due to the fact, that Spathiphyllum is a native Tropical Forrest plant, it would love to bee placed in you bath / wellness room, in the kitchen room or in other rooms where the humidity is high (Do not place your Spathiphyllum directly over the radiator). Use it as a "lightning and fresh" plant in your dark rooms.
If your plant stops flowering there is no reason to throw the plant, with proper care the plant will start to produce new flowers after 3 to 5 months.
